    Gold-bar duty restated per tola

    Earlier baggage rules set the limit at 234 g.
    Now
    Maximum 117 g or 10 tola per calendar year, at Tk 5,000 per 11.664 g.

  3. Effective 30 Mar 2025

    Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention

    Documents needed multi-step embassy legalisation. Bangladesh acceded on 29 July 2024.
    Now
    A single apostille certificate replaces the chain for member states, in force from 30 March 2025.

  4. Effective 1 Jun 2023

    Gold-bar carrying limit halved and duty raised

    234 g of gold bars per year.
    Now
    117 g per year, with the per-tola duty increased.
